Since December 3rd, 2018, Francis Flower is part of LKAB Minerals.
The five locations previously connected to Francis Flower are strategically located close to major road, rail and port networks.
The Gurney Slade plant in Somerset specialises in milling limestone, marble and dolomite. At the Runcorn site in Cheshire Calcifert granulated lime and Calcifert S granulated calcium sulphate are produced as well as milled and un-milled anhydrite (Andricite). At the Wicken quarry in Cambridgeshire soft limestone is extracted and milled. The Cumbrian operation in Shap, mills limestone for asphalt filler. At the Scunthorpe GGBS site in Lincolnshire environmentally friendly cement is produced.
Storage at these five locations is supplemented with a national network of remote storage silos, which provide an additional capacity of 15,000 tonnes.
