Join us on stand D2 on the 20th and 21st March to learn more about our integrated offering to the concrete sector.
LKAB Minerals offers minerals for concrete
Our GGBS, MagnaDense and Gypsol teams will be available at the NEC, Birmingham to discuss your concrete and screed requirements. In addition, Richard Hunt, Sales Manager for Magnetite will be presenting the seminar ‘High Density Concrete in Construction’ on day two (Thursday) of the event.
This is the first exhibition showcasing an integrated product offering to the concrete industry since the acquisition of Francis Flower in December 2018.
High density concrete
LKAB Minerals has supplied MagnaDense to civil engineering applications for many years, for use as an aggregate in concrete. In more recent years, the uses of dense concrete containing the natural iron ore mineral MagnaDense, has grown from the traditional hospital radiation shielding builds, to tunnels, nuclear, renewable energy and offshore applications.
Join Richard at the Concrete Show for his presentation, focussing on the characteristics of MagnaDense and its properties within concrete, followed by three of the most recent applications including; The Crossrail project and the development of the first High Density Floating Track Slab (FTS); the use of dense concrete in nuclear new builds and the development of concrete waste encapsulation boxes; and the development of a high density dolphin mooring quay in the Port of Tyne.
Environmentally friendly alternatives
Gypsol anhydrite screed binder is made mainly from recycled material and offers a cost effective, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional labour intensive sand cement screeds. Speak to our team of national specification managers who can provide expert advice for your flooring project, or visit our dedicated website to find our more.
Ground Granulated Blastfurnace Slag (GGBS) is made from a by-product of the iron manufacturing process and is utilised as a cement replacement in concrete production. GGBS replaces the Portland Cement content in concrete by up to 70% and can not only improve durability but also significantly reduce the embodied CO2 of the finished concrete. Visit our stand or our GGBS website to find out more.
Why visit the Concrete Show?
In its ninth year, the Concrete Show is the only UK event dedicated exclusively to the concrete industry. This year also showcases its first outdoor live demo area.
