Minelco strengthens its refractory business

2012 is an exciting year for Minelco’s refractory industry, with a strengthened sales team in Europe and big investments in the processing of refractory minerals and aggregates.

During the second part of 2011 and the start of 2012, Minelco strengthened its sales team in various countries. In the UK, Carl Kaighin has been appointed as Technical Sales Manager. Carl’s focus is on product innovation and diversification, as well as further promotion and utilisation of Minelco’s recycled refractory minerals and the toll processing service.

In France, Robert Egea has been appointed as Sales Manager for Refractories. Robert is based in the Lille region of France and will focus on sales of refractory materials into France and neighbouring Belgium as well as other European countries including Spain and Germany.

Cengiz Suoglu has also been appointed as Sales Manager and is based at our German office. His focus will be on increasing sales of refractory and foundry products into the German and neighbouring European markets.

Minelco has also recently expanded its presence in the refractory market by developing production sites in China and the UK. In China, investment is underway for a new processing facility, enabling us to process more material on site. In the UK, the new £2.8m processing facility is in its final stages and is expected to be fully operational by the end of August 2012. The investment will increase the storage and production space of our refractory products and will facilitate the expansion of Minelco’s technical facilities.

Further developments are also underway in recycled refractory materials and chromite sand. Further information will be published when available.

Minelco offers a wide range of virgin and recycled refractory minerals as well as a number of services including toll processing and layering and mixing of materials to customer specific recipes. Our refractory materials can also be used in other applications, and our extensive in-house expertise is assisting current and future customers in the research of such applications. For further information on any of our minerals or services, please contact us.
