The process of recycling refractory materials involves sorting to remove contamination before being primary crushed and dried. Material is then processed to individual customer specifications. Chemical analysis is carried out on at each stage of the process to ensure consistency.

LKAB Minerals recycled materials originate predominantly from steel and cement works. Material is recovered, sorted and processed in the UK.
