The evening provided all delegates with an opportunity to network and discuss the current climate for recycling.
Varied recycling technical programme
Day two saw a varied recycling technical programme. It went from Refractories and Steel to Red Mud and Silica Fume applications. LKAB Minerals participated in the programme, with our Technical Director Melvyn Bradley. He presented his paper ‘Recycling of spent refractories’. Melvyn gave an overview of the process involved in recycling refractories. When in addition talked about the current market, continued growth and future opportunities for recycled refractory materials.
Meeting recycling companies
Darren commented ‘The Forum provided an opportunity to meet with fellow recycling companies and refractory producers. We discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. It is apparent that companies are looking to make the move towards recycled materials. We see that continued investments from LKAB Minerals and other recycling companies are ensuring these materials are cost effective, quality alternatives to virgin materials.’
