Product information

LKAB Minerals offer a range of Magnesites, including Dead Burnt Magnesite, SKLS Magnesite, and Nedmag Magnesia, for a number of refractory applications.

Magnesite is a natural ore identified as magnesium carbonate, occurring as a primary mineral in igneous and sedimentary rocks, with a number of refractory applications.

Dead Burnt Magnesite is made by calcining the magnesite ore in a rotary kiln to produce a high-purity product with high purity, stability, and good sintering properties.

SKLS Magnesite, also known as Periclase, is made using a calcination and seawater process.

Nedmag 99 is a high-purity synthetic Dead Burned Magnesia produced by Nedmag Industries. It has a magnesia content of 99% min.

Origins

The origins of our Magnesite materials are as follows:

  • SKLS Magnesite – originates from Ireland.
  • Dead Burnt (DB) Magnesite – originates from the Liaoning province in China.
  • Nedmag 99 Magnesia – sourced from The Netherlands.

Toxicology

Magnesite products are inert and non-toxic. You can download the Material Safety Datasheets in the data centre.
