LKAB Minerals Oy achieves Responsible Minerals Assurance Process conformance for phlogopite mica
We are proud to announce that LKAB Minerals Oy in Finland has successfully completed the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) for phlogopite mica. This achievement confirms our conformance with the Responsible Minerals Initiative’s (RMI) assessment standard, positioning LKAB Minerals among only three mica producers worldwide to hold this recognition.
The RMI, with more than 500 member companies, is one of the most respected global organisations dedicated to advancing responsible mineral sourcing in supply chains. Its flagship RMAP programme provides independent, third-party verification of smelter and refiner sourcing practices, focusing on high-impact points in global supply chains.
At our Siilinjärvi site, the assessment evaluated management systems, sourcing practices, and due diligence processes to ensure they align with RMAP standards for responsible sourcing, workplace practices, environmental safeguards, and health and safety.

This conformance is a significant step for LKAB Minerals and reflects our long-term commitment to responsible mineral supply chains. It enhances confidence for our customers across industries that phlogopite mica from LKAB Minerals Oy is sourced and processed in line with rigorous international standards.
