LKAB Minerals awarded Ecovadis Gold medal for the third year running

News May 4, 2022

“We are delighted to receive an EcoVadis gold medal for our business, for the third year in a row. Not only that, but we have also increased our score from 66 points in 2019, to 70 in 2022 and we don’t plan to stop there” says Anders Lundgren Chief Sustainability Officer, Business Area Special Products.

EcoVadis annually assesses companies’ sustainability work based on criteria within the environment, work environment, human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis has audited more than 60,000 companies globally. Only 5% of the companies audited by EcoVadis achieve the gold level.

Within LKAB Minerals, we follow the LKAB group’s ambitious sustainability roadmap, and as part of this, we aim to see our EcoVadis score increase every year. For 2022, we received a higher score for business ethics by providing further evidence on how we treat our value chain and highlighting the importance of human rights, such as our updated guidelines on anti-corruption.

We're strongly committed to LKAB´s sustainability journey

Anders Lundgren concludes “if we in 2022, in accordance with the overall strategic goals within LKAB and the Business Area, continue to follow the plan and take steps forward on climate issues (energy, resource efficiency and CO2 improvements) I am convinced that we have a great chance to further improve our rating. The aim is set to reach the highest Platinum level of Ecovadis award”.
