This January, Gypsol Diamond was the screed of choice for a new build project, located in the Hackney region of London.
The project comprised of four levels; a basement workshop, ground floor and two apartments, located on the first and second floors. In total, the project saw the installation of 260 square metres of Gypsol Anhydrite screed.
Polished screed finish
Gypsol Diamond liquid screed is a unique screed system, providing a finished polished floor. It offers the versatility and practicality of an anhydrite floor, along with the beauty and durability of a polished concrete. As with other Gypsol screeds, you can achieve installation of Gypsol Diamond through the same installation methods and dries within 28 days.
Achieving different finishes
For this project, two different finishes were achieved by Exeter Floor Restoration Ltd. The basement was specified to be a Gypsol Diamond screed with a matt appearance, achieved through the installation of a heavy sealer on the surface to stop contamination from machinery in use in the area. The apartments, also specified as Gypsol Diamond, were polished further due to the requirement for a sheen appearance with a low maintenance finish.
The finished floor is a natural colour but pigments can be added.
