Refractory bauxite is calcined at 1600 – 1650°C, producing a dense, high-purity and stable aggregate.
High alumina content and a very low alkali content
Low impurities (iron oxide and titania specifically)
Refractory grade bauxites have a high alumina content and a very low alkali content with low impurities (iron oxide and titania specifically), ensuring stable temperature strength.
LKAB Minerals offer RASC Bauxite as standard with the following properties:
RASC (Refractory Aggregate Super Calcined) bauxite is rotary calcined. The bauxite raw material is extremely consistent, which LKAB Minerals process into different gradings for use in the refractory industry or as an aggregate in High Friction Surfacing.
LKAB Minerals can source Chinese Bauxite materials upon request. These include:
LKAB Minerals processes and supplies Guyanese refractory grade Bauxite. Please reach out to your sales representative for more information.
Other grades are available on request.
Our Bauxite materials are available in 25kg paper sacks, 1000kg bulk bags, or as bulk as standard.
Properties of Bauxite
Bauxites are non-toxic, non-hazardous stable minerals.
Our customers use industrial minerals to improve constructions, increase safety and reduce costs.
